West Forsyth High School Boys Lacrosse

West Middle School Select Lacrosse Program Interest Form

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the

NEW West Forsyth Middle School

Select Feeder Lacrosse Program

We are thrilled to introduce you to your new West Forsyth Select Feeder Middle School Lacrosse Program in conjunction with West Forsyth High School Lacrosse under the leadership of Head Coach John Laden and staff.

This program is designed for student athletes in sixth through eighth grade who are ready to embrace the values of energy, toughness, and trust both on and off the field.

The West Feeder Middle School lacrosse program aims to instill a sense of camaraderie, discipline, and sportsmanship in our student athletes while providing them with a platform to develop their skills and passion for the game. Through a combination of rigorous training sessions, competitive games in the GMSAA, and team-building activities, we aim to foster a positive and supportive environment where every player can thrive.

Key highlights of the program include:

Emphasis on energy: We believe in playing with passion, enthusiasm, and determination. Our players will learn to bring their full energy to every practice and game, pushing themselves to new heights of performance.

Focus on toughness: Lacrosse is a physically demanding sport that requires mental and physical toughness. Our program will help students develop resilience, grit, and perseverance both on and off the field.

Cultivation of trust: Trust is the foundation of any successful team. Through collaborative drills, communication exercises, and team bonding activities, we will build a strong sense of trust among our players that will translate into effective teamwork on the field.

We are excited to welcome all interested student athletes to join the West Forsyth Select Middle School Lacrosse Program and be part of this incredible journey.

Whether your child is a seasoned player or new to the sport, our experienced coaches are dedicated to helping each student athlete reach their full potential while having fun along the way.

Our coaching staff consists of current and past West Forsyth High School coaches and alumni. Middle school parents are not involved and the program is overseen by Coach John Laden, Ray Denard and the West Forsyth High School Lacrosse Board.

We compete in the GMSAA Middle School Lacrosse league. The Georgia Middle School Athletic Association (GMSAA) is a residence based middle school lacrosse and football program with more than 4,500 student-athletes.

At the GMSAA a student-athlete must play for the program of the high school district they live within. This allows the high school coaching staff to start developing their athletes at the 6th grade level as opposed to the freshman year in high school.

The GMSAA encourages the high school coaching staff to help implement the same offense and defense as the high school, giving the middle school players a greater knowledge of plays and concepts.

Being a part of the GMSAA allows us to compete against the top programs in the Metro Atlanta area, therefore some travel is expected.

Our parent information meeting and tryout dates will be announced soon. Details to follow.

Please visit www.wfhslax.com and join our email list so that you are always up to date on the events and schedules.

If you have any questions or would like more information about the program, please do not hesitate to contact Coach Denard (770) 375-1379, Coach Lane (631) 671-4196 or Coach Pepple (678) 622-4234.

We look forward to seeing your son thrive in the West Forsyth Select Feeder middle school lacrosse program and become part of our growing lacrosse family both in Middle and on into High School.
